Note: Althought offering the above videos, I did this with caution. Though what here is presented as true, I have watched other of Dr. Ryan M. Reeves' videos and found the handling of the Roman Catholic "church" with "a soft touch". After researching Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, "Gordon Divinity School and Conwell Theological Seminary were both from the Baptist heritage. When Gordon-Conwell was refounded in 1969, however, the seminary was purposefully founded with no specific Christian denominational affiliation." This was alarming. I then found that they are part of the: Boston Theological Institute (BTI), a consortium of eleven theological schools in the Greater Boston area and the Carolina Theological Consortium, a consortium of four theological schools in North and South Carolina. Of these eleven schools in Boston they work closely with 1/3rd are Roman Catholic with two of these being Jesuit! In their Mission Statement it declares their close relationship working together. "The Boston Theological Institute is a consortium of ten theological schools and seminaries in the Boston area. It seeks to enrich each member school's mission, advance intentional collaboration, and share resources in order to advance interreligious (also known as . . . interdenominational or interfaith) and ecumenical learning; to strengthen teaching, learning and research; to maximize the stewardship of resources; and to engage the member schools in building interreligious community. Among the schools' activities has been a festival where their choirs join together in celebrating their interreligious cooperation in a free concert. Pope John Paul II commended members of the Institute at an audience in Rome in 1993. The fortieth anniversary celebration at Harvard included a review of its history." Therefore, my recommendaton is to use CLOSE discernment when watching or listening to anything from Dr. Ryan M. Reeves or learning or watching ANYTHING from Gordon Divinity School and/or from Conwell Theological Seminary.
