I've been in IT since 1985. When Facebook first came out in 2004, I didn't join. It sounded interesting, though. In 2005, three classmates who helped Zuckerburg by investing $1,000.00 each sued him for lying to them. The reason I didn't join . . . I simply didn't buy the story they sold. The story -- this college wiz kid, Mark Zuckerburg while at University developed this technology, had the financing, marketing, and political savvy (or knew those who did) that helped him as a private individual to turn Facebook into a $15 billion dollar company within three years. I don't think so. Also, other Tech. friends I had while working at Datastorm told me Facebook was really a C.I.A. company both financed and managed by the C.I.A. for information gathering for the American Government. I verified bits and pieces of this, enough to decide not to join. Through the years, when doing orientation for the State of Missouri, I warned people about Google and Facebook being C.I.A. front companies that gather all of their information for the Government. I only, like I said, had bits and pieces of information that I'd verified, but enough to know something wasn't right. I was correct.
